House Democrats have been referring to the legislation passage as "historic." There is no doubt that the bill is historic, but it is not the type of history that we need nor want to be recognized and remembered for.
The history of this legislation will be written in textbooks, published in journals and reported in newspapers, blogs, news shows and internet sources forever. The supporters believe that the history of this will be bright, and though it would be beneficial to the American people if the path of health care overhaul is smooth, let's be logical.
Logically, the plan will not work because it will hurt many more people than it will benefit. When taxes increase, people do not spend their money that stimulates the economy. People lose jobs when taxes increase, which increases our already high unemployment rate.
History will be made when the vote passes in the next hour or so, BAD HISTORY! History that will create instability in this country.
And that is the view from this side.
